Motorcycle Prototype Companion

I created this blog to keep people updated on progress and developments involving Motorcycle Prototype. I have been working on an application that runs on PC and broadcasts input to the game so you can use any PC controller to play it.

This week I updated the app to broadcast over the local network so you don't need an IP address to connect to the device. Made a few fixes, changed the layout and added an options screen to switch between input modes.

Wrote up a manual with instructions on how to use it, uploaded to Google Drive and created a new page for it.

Motorcycle Prototype available now on SideloadVR!

Download it here!

I submitted Motorcycle Prototype to SideloadVR for inclusion on their web page, currently you can ride around the track on a motorcycle and there is a speedometer on the dashboard.

Amber helped me out by writing the description and creating icons and screenshots for the submission. I didn't get a response for a few days and I even sent a follow up email as suggested when I submitted the game. A couple of days later they replied to tell me that it was live on the site! As of now there have been over 170 downloads and three positive reviews out of three! I linked to my Homewreckers Studio blog as the web site for the game which hasn't been updated in over a year, I'm updating it now so it's current and fixing the project pages.

The prototype currently uses a gamepad as input because it was the easiest way to get something up and running, I don't like using the gamepad and have written a companion application to enable PC input. It uses sockets to send either keyboard and mouse or joystick input to the game. I have tested it, it works flawlessly and is infinitely better than a gamepad! I need to do a bit of work on it so it's more user friendly and people can remap the inputs before I release it.
